One of my instructors of the MCF Safety Course said the same thing. He also added "How much risk are you willing to take?" Personally, I wear a ff ALL THE TIME! I also wear riding boots and leather jacket. Gloves are worn when it's cold, but I hate them due to my inability to find any that fit properly (I have a medium palm and small fingers, so I have to choose tight palms or fingers that are too long - either way, I have trouble with control wearing them.)

"How much risk are you willing to take?", also called freedom of choice.
"Only expose as much skin as you are willing to lose", also called couch potato.
