Default 2008 EFI harley won't start

went to get on the bike tonight and i turned the key and all te lights got dim. hit the fuel injection button and nothing happened, so i hit the start button to see if anything would happen and nothing did. won't turn over, doesn't do anything. what should i do? it did click at one point but then that stopped too. what could it be? the maxi fuse? the starter? the ignition? EFI acting up? really starting to frustrate me, the last thing i want to do is take it to the dealer and have them rip me off... help please.

I'd start with the battery first. Use a volt meter to see If the battery is charged. I was with my brother on a trip to Key West. Three days into the trip, he parked his bike at the hotel and the next day it wouldn't start. Had the battery checked and it was a dead cell. If the battery is good, make sure your ground cable to the frame is tight. If your lights dimmed when you turned on the key, it's not the maxi-fuse or your starter.

Sounds like the battery aint very happy.... Try putting on a charger with a start boost.

Happened to me - it was the relay.

Check the battery first. Then check connections.

I'd say a connection problem at either of the battery post connections or the main frame ground, failing that possibly corrosion in the fuse/relay box.
By the way...what is the fuel injection button?, not sure if mine has that button

i would clean all connections to starter, battery etc with sand paper. tighten them up good and charge the battery.

My money would be on a corroded relay or loose ground cable.
