Default Wife won't ride

I won a 2010 883L on Mother's Day. Was going to sell, but wife decided she wanted it. Long story short, she rode it around the neighborhood a few times, but now won't get on it. Says the bike is uncomfortable and feels very cramped. She wants to ride, but just doesn't like the bike now. HELP!!

Is she too tall for it or what? Maybe a different seat and handle bars.

Take her and the bike and trade for a Deluxe. Well don't trade HER, just the 883.

as bikermama said, new seat, bars, foot controls(mid or forwards) can make a huge difference in comfort. If she's too tall then try some longer shocks as well.

Forward controls, buckhorns(or similar) and a cushy seat. Maybe a windshield.
After that ?? Maybe just turn it into a bobber for yourself!

Yeah I was thinking forward control, and maybe a seat change. What are you guys or gals riding on.(seat) Don't want to move her forward though. She is greatful to have the bike, just not comfortable riding it.

Trade in and up. Forward controls did the trick for me.

I'm 6'2".

The sundown seat is likely the best bet if you need more room.
Not sure what bars the 883 low has on it, but my 1200 low had buckhorn bars that had me leaning back, which was very uncomfortable.
I put normal bars on it, so I lean forward a little bit (into the wind) and its much better.

The shocks and forks are designed for midgets to be able to get their feet on the ground, so they dont work very well at all.
You can push the forks down in the clamps, and change the oil to 15 weight which helps a lot, and/or get progressive fork springs ($88.00).

Longer rear shocks do wonders, I just put 13 inch long progressive 412 shocks on and its really fantastic, that is up from the 11.6 inch long stock shocks.

Adjustable hiway pegs help a lot on long rides, plus, I think it takes a little time to get used to a bike.

The seat is the big thing though, the sundown is taller, and has a LOT more padding then the low seats, which have almost none.

You can modify the sundown seat, move it back a little, take the cover off easy and add foam to get it how you like, and its not expensive.

Or, maybe trade the bike in on a 2011 sportster which is supposed to be much improved....
