Default Air shocks on, now have a question

I read where many have posted about installing Street Glide shocks on the Sportster to improve the ride, I got a pair on Ebay. The shocks are the Showa #54662-02A, 11 3/4 inch eye to eye. Installation was easy, used some washers to clear the belt guard, no other problems encountered.

My wife says the ride isn't much better than the stock shocks. Did we expect too much, or is there something wrong with the shock? We are running about 5 PSI, for a single rider about 130 lbs. Should we try less PSI? The shocks were shipped with caps, so I don't think there is a problem with oil. I guess I was expecting a more noticeable improvement. Sorry, no picture capability.

Any input is much appreciated - Thanks

I have 0 PSI in my shocks but I only ride solo and I am 220 lbs. It's not a huge difference to me but it is a noticable difference from stock.

with that light of a rider I would drop it to 0 psi. remember they are setup for a heavier bike.

I'm 230 and run 5-7 psi and up to 15 when the mrs gets on.

Keep in mind that the air pressure is for rebound ONLY. The preload is preset for the weight of the bagger you got them off. Mine are off an 97 Ultra and preloaded at about 720lbs.
Bleeding the shocks as mentioned above is a great idea.

I run 0psi in my shocks and its a hundred percent improvement over stock. Whether I'm riding solo or 2 up.
