Mine's got both bags and high bar and I love the way it looks. I don't have any pics but I'll try and get some up.

I have the mini-rail(short bar)and a set of "Willie and Max" bags on mine and it looks good.Bags are a little small but as long as they hold the rain suit and a six pack I'm fine![sm=icon_cheers.gif]

HDSoul, are you running the saddlebag frame?

I want saddle bags too, but am wondering how well they hold up without the support.

I'm doing the same with my 2000 custom. I ordered a short back rest but didn't like the height since the lines of the bike slope down toward the rear. (I also have drag bars)
Now, that being said , when I first saw the bike advertised, it had a fairly tall padded back rest and pull backs...that didn't look so out of line.
I'm opting for a mini rail with a pad.

For saddle bags, the best way to tell how they would look is to make mockups out of cardboard and black paint. Hang them where they supposed to be, and stand back about 15 feet to get a feel for the look. (I go through the parts catalogs to get dimensions)

No,didn't bother running any frames or brackets.Just took some heavier gauge zip ties and attached to the stru and rear turn signal.Doesn't look bad at all.Bags are pretty light and I have had them loaded down a few times and empty others and cruised fine on quite a few runs this past summer with no problems.Pain in the *** with the brackets and all if you want to take them off quick and ride clean with no bags. www.willieandmax.com I have the plain "Standard" bags, fit the bike like a glove.Have seen others with bigger bags and it just did'nt look good to me.

I had saddlebags on my bike but I think it looks "sportier" without it......so I only have the tool pouch on my trees,.....its all preference...if you are doing a lot of riding and dont wnat to wear abackpack then get the bags,,,but dont get them if you only are doin it for looks.....bags should only be on a bike in my opinion if you NEED Them....but thats my opinion...everyone has a different preference.
