congrats and smart move with how you plan on riding and getting the feel of the bike. Its the best thing you can do for your safety.
My Mrs just got her 883L and loves it but there is alot of construction near our house so she hasnt had the chance to practice with it much. She agreed that it is alot heavier than her MSF class bikes so she has to take that into account.
