I need to get on the forum more often. I miss far to much when I don't. I went down to the dealership last week and asked the parts guy for two oil filters for my Sportster. What I got was part No. 63805-80A. On a short search I was not able to find out what the Micron rating is on this filter, only that it fit just about every HD made sense WWII.

Anyone know about this filter?

PN 63805-80A should be the 'Black' version of the Chrome 30-micron 63796-77A filter shown in the above picture.

It's made for the EVO and EVO based engines, and the "official description" is;

"Fits '80 to '98 FLT, FLHT, FLHR, '82 to '94 FXR, '84 to '98 Softails, '84 to '95 FXRP, FLHTP, '84 and later XL, and '08 and later XR models."

Reusable - FLO Reusable Stainless Steel Oil Filter by PC Racing #PCS4C

The outer housing is polished billet aluminum

Fits most Harley Davidson motorcycles.

I challenge you to find a better oil filter than this beauty. This reusable oil filter is made from laser cut, medical grade, 304 stainless steel micronic filter cloth. In addition to filtering down to 35 microns, this high tech filter technology maintains consistent flow under all conditions including extreme heat (up to 600 degrees), the presence of water, and cold start-ups. This filter has magnetic pre-filtering, a progressive rate bypass valve, a drilled wrench nut for easy removal and for safety wiring required at most race tracks. All this encased in a beautiful polished billet alluminum housing that doubles as an oil cooler. FLO Oil Filters will save the average user hundreds of dollars and valuable time, by simply using this one filter for the life of your motorcycle or ATV. The "turn lock" design allows for easy disassembly for cleaning of the filter element. This also allows for easy inspection of the trapped particles, so you know what is going on in your engine. The filter element can be cleaned with solvent, contact/brake cleaner, kerosene, or any other degreasing agent; even common dish soap.

This high tech filter technology is widely used in all types of auto racing including NASCAR, Indy type cars, Formula 1 and in the Aerospace industry where filtration is of the utmost importance. Now you can have this technology in your motorcycle, ATV, or UTV. I have a complete line of FLO stainless steel oil filters by PC Racing including "drop in" filters so send me an email if you can't find one for you, as I likely have it.

Applications: Part #PCS4C

Great, except for the initial cost of the filter and all the time and mess involved in cleaning it every time you change your oil. I'd rather just spend $8 for a new filter. At 5,000 miles per oil change, you'd have to use it for 65,000 miles just to break even on the initial cost of the filter.
