Question about Python slip ons and rejetting
Curious....
I have a set of Python3 Slip-ons. Would it be safe to put these on my bike without rejetting? I really would rather wait until my break-in period to rejet and let the dealer do it, along with the SE AC (easy, I know) to perserve the warranty etc.
I am just wondering if I can at least slip the new mufflers on and wait to rejet and do the full Stage 1 after the break-in period -- like at the 1000K inspection point?
I am not the best mechanic, but I think I could get away with changing out two jets on the carb. I am just leery of messing with the carb now due to warranty etc etc etc
I really do want to increase the rumbling from the exhaust while I wait.
Thoughts?

It probably won't be a problem if you change just the mufflers. You may have to adjust your mixture screw a little. Without changing the air filter, you won't be increasing the air flow very much. BUT, if you experience any carb coughs or the sparkplugs burn white it is an indication that you are running lean.

If it's necessary, you MUST adjust the idle mixture screw with the bike warmed up and running. Turn it in a little until the idle slows down, then turn it out slowly until the maximum idle rpm is reached, but no further than that. Leave the mixture screw there and you may have to re-adjust the idle rpm with the idle screw (not the mixture screw).
I don't know about the pipes and your warranty. Give your service dept a call.

OK, gotcha. Thanks. I'll look into this when I have some time. No real rush. Bike runs like a dream right now. Adding some growl to it is secondary right now to insuring I break her in properly. Just planning ahead cause that is how Cosmic operates!
