Tryr,

The first thing is to learn your bike, don't just hop on and ride or you hop on and die.

Get the manual for God sake, if I understand you've been riding for some time (I guess the hard time are catching up?) so there is no reason for letting the dealer$$ run off with your hard earned ca$h.

When you read the book all of a sudden many options will flood your mind (not playboy) and get your hands dirty but remember to mark and remember settings.

Does the oil magically cool off 20 degrees as soon as it hit the oil tank?

Magically? No. It does cool off considerably in the bag, though, which is a large part of the point of having a separate oil tank as opposed to it being in the crankcase.

Not as interested in your off topic oil temp discussion as in what Tryr got for his $1400.00 visit to the stealership???
