Question 1200 conversion kit, what else is needed?

I am planning on buying a 1200 conversion kit for my 2006 883 Sportster. Besides the 1200 kit, what other parts do I need to make my jump to 1200 a successful one? My bike is pretty much stock except for some SE slip-on mufflers.

A 1200 ignition will make life a little easier. Ported heads and cams will do wonders. ported 1200 heads and a programmable ignition are even better.

But it all boils down to how much you want to spend?

06 was the last year for carb, so a tuner will not help.
You will need to rejet your carb. Talk to NRH before you get the kit and they can tell you all you need to know!

You can/could get different ignitions for that '06. Adjustable ones. Not a "tuner" per se. I've got a Screamin' Eagle ignition waiting to go on my 883 when I bump it to a 1200.

It all depends on how much power you want to make. If you just want a 1200 get the kit and rejet your carb. Ive got around 3000 in mine and it makes 115hp.

Your situation might be one that makes sense to go with the HD 1200 upgrade kit as you don't have a high flow a/c yet and also have only added slip-ons to the bike. Doesn't sound like you're looking to mod everything on the bike. The best performance kit out there I think is the NRHS 883 to 1250 kit, especially if you can do the work yourself.

I also suggest you first look at, and talk to NHRS. The money you save there will pay for a new air cleaner so you can really get the benefit of the increased engine size.
