Longer shocks are a boon. More ground clearance, quicker steering, more effective weight transfer when cornering. Not to mention more comfort. I replaced the stock 12.5" pogo sticks on my 07 Dyna with adjustable length Ohlins set at 13.2" and slid the fork stanchions up about 3/8" in the yokes. Sharpened the handling and it's a lot more comfy. The XR1200 bars were a help, too.

Taller shocks on a "Low" model ? Ok cool and quicker steering again cool.
raising the back end changes effectve rake for quicker steering,,BUT
I would tune the front end also for neutral steering,,I don't want a
Hi speed wobble or a dreaded tank slapper.
Lower frame rails level or lower to the rear just a bit for good Hi speed stability.
Still on stock shocks set to most preload,,,In gear I'm 235lbs n 6'
Added 3/4" preload spacers up front to level the chassis
changed to Screamin Eagle performance "Heavy" fork oil to slow front end dive.
Added a Super Brace for a shure footed feel.
Still on stock donlops and wearin em out as fast as I can XD
Got Nice narrow chicken strips,
bike is stable, tracks perfect, altho when I'm WOT and cross an old thick paint
line the front end does get a bit light and hunts a bit.
The rear shocks ride fine, but are just too slow to respond in a fast curve
,,need coin to upgrade,,savin up I am

I added 12" HD 412s to my Iron. Love the feel. I'm 5-10 and 180 so I really didn't need the HD version but if I ever want to ride 2-up I'd rather have 'em in place. I wanted a little more ground clearance and felt like i was riding too low on the stock crap anyways. I also added standard height front springs and have stopped the brake diving. It doesn't look any different to me being an inch higher and the ride is exceptional.
