06 sportster carb
I have a 06 Sportster I bought used. The carb spits once in a while.I think it was setting with gas in the carb, because the bike only had 4900 hundred miles on it.I have book on the bike and carb rebuild doesn't show air/fuel mixture screw. I also need to know what carb kit to get. Any suggestion would be helpful. Thanks

The multitude of carb threads will show you where to find the mixture screw, its under the plug on the bottom of the carb.

As an alternative to rebuilding the carb, take a gas can to you local smaller airport and find the FBO or flight business office. Buy 5gal of 100 octane low lead aviation gas. If asked tell them it for your generator that sat all winter long so they dont charge you road tax for putting in the bike. Put 2gal in an empty tank and let it run for 30 min.
Aviation gas will not varnish and when left out, evaporate 50times faster than car gas. Plus it will dissolve any varnish or gum in the carb.
If you still want to rebuild the carb then get you a kit from the stealer or J&P. But go ahead and get a new larger slow get if you plan on upgrading the air filter and exhaust soon as you will need it. Either a 44 or 45 will be ok.

Welcome to the forum :-)
Seafoam is raved on here for the results it gets. If you suspect that it sat with bad gas be sure to drain it and rinse the tank.
Does the bike have any aftermarket pipes or intake on it? If you are going through all that work on the carb, if finances allow it, it might be a good time to put them on and rejet it also.
There are many many choices based on looks and desired sound. If you like the stock Ham can look, for service and quality you can't beat the NRHS hurricane flow. I also have cycle shack slip ons that give a nice deep rumble without being obnoxiously loud.
Good luck with getting it running smoothly.
