Scuffed the chrome with some scotchbrite then just sprayed them with black gloss spraypaint out of a can- I believe you folks across the pond call it "rattle can"

Finish came out ok, they are only small so not going to bother powdercoating, they look good enough for me :-)

 

I went with these brackets. The only differance was I picked them up from the dealer and it only came with the brackets...no hardware. It would have been nice to have the hardware but I made it work. They are really close to the forks. I installed them on the bottom tree. Very satisfied with them even though I had to do some modifications to some allen wrenches.
