Default nightster seat's bandlander and tripper solo

i spent alot of time looking up opinions on seats here are some facts

i oringally purchased a harley badlander 2 up, for $200 w/shipping on ebay, brand new from a harley dealer , st paul harley. i think normal price is $230. the badlander was way more comfortable then the stock. it rased me up about a inch or two, and pushed me a little foward maybe a 1/2 inch. my passenger said the seat was ok for her as well. the seat is covered with a ok quality vinal, looks like leather. the seat mount exactly like the stack one, lines up with the tank alot better. i also recommend putting a piece of micro fiber undernieth the passenger part of the seat so you fender does get jacked up, i took a piece and wrapped it with a banddanna so i didnt have a neon green cloth waiving around. i also purchased a one piece black sissy bar and back pad and detachable harwear and lock, for $250 w/shipping from the same place. both were cheaper then ordering it from the dealer down my street. i think i saved like $120 bucks

now just purchased the mustang tripper solo for $200 w/ shipping from dennis kirk.com. this seat put me in the same seat positon as the badlander, it is covered in a better a softer grade vynal. and look more like leather then the badlander so far it feels a little firmer, i think the foam they use is more of a memory foam. it has a really cool stich pattern on it to. also to make both seat easyer to remove and replace you can lossen the bottom bolt on the gas tank and lift the tank up like a 1/16 of a inch and retighten. the mustang mounts with the front tab and the rear bolt, it does not use the peg below the ecm under the seat, it hase little feet that make contact in four places. makes it alot easyer to remove. also you can go to any car part place and get any lincence plate tamper proof bolts ant there the same theads used to for the seat bolts. i found some made by bell that look like a spike that use a special spanner wreanch tool to tighten or lossen.

Nice write up. In your research, did you run across any opinions on the mustang vintage solo seat? I've been thinking about this one. Would love to know what anyone else thinks. (Hope I'm not hijacking.)

i have to agree on the badlander, for my nightster i picked one up from a member of the site here, very happy with it for up to 200 mile days but i have a HD reach seat which is like an ez chair in comparison not only for me but passengers also, this is my long distance seat but looks way big on the bike.

also i opted for a haulen *** backrest.

any opinions on the vintage were good, i just didnt want one cause i saw one on a nightster and it comes off looking really big. and i also checked out the reach as well, great seat but yes looks big on the bike. i felt the badlander and the tripper were in the middle. not to big not to small, not to soft not to hard. i am also am not a big guy 5 ft 7, 130lbs, so both seats for me on long rides is just fine for me.
