Default any creative ways to lift your sporty?

I just got my laydown plate with relo kit and saddle bags. I need to lift the bike and drop the shock to get my hands up under the fender. I don't have a jack, in the past with past bikes I used a 2x12 with a black pipe lever to lift the bike - thinking about building something similar but wanted to know what you all have done

thanks,
david

i borrowed one from a buddy, but harbor freight has them cheap enough. it is the $149 one. it works great. plus they have a 20% coupon. i dont think its worth the hassle or worry to use anything else. your next post will be about your sporty layin on the garage floor

I put some blocks of wood under the kickstand until it's almost vertical then I use a car jack with a 1"x6" piece of wood to protect the frame to lift the bike. Just add another piece of wood to the kickstand if needed. It sounds hairbrain but it works pretty good and is quite stable. I did my Progressive shocks and fork springs with this method. I don't like to buy cheap Chinese stuff so I would like to get a JS Jack, made in Wisconsin, for future projects.
