And great bike! I got mine 3 weeks ago and have 2000km (1250mi) on it already. Get back safe and have some fun!

Hey man, thanks for your service. I too am in the military, and I am currently deployed right now to the middle east. I just recently put my order in for a 2011 Iron 883. I wont be back stateside til around february of 2011 and I already have the mod bug haha. I want to ask you though how did the whole process from ordering the bike to taking delivery of it go? Any one else done this while deployed?

First, did you buy your bike at Yucca Valley HD? The desert reminds me of 29 Palms (I was there for 6 years). I miss 29 Palms....sometimes.

As far as the ordering while deployed goes, I believe you order the bike, tell them your home dealership, pay for it and that's it. I remember that's how the car dealership on Okinawa was, but that was also 13 years ago.

It was really simple...male sure you go through the Military Exchange Car sales program, its alot cheaper than going through a dealer..and make sure you get the deployed status discount its like an extra 300...I did everything through email and picked up my bike just as planned with no problems at all...
