Used Screaming Eagle mufflers deal or not
I found a set of black Screaming Eagle slip on mufflers with matching black heat shields for $300 used. They're not exactly what I want, but I really can't stand my stock exhaust and figured this might be a cheap way to satisfy myself till I get the complete setup that I want. Obviously whoever is selling them wasn't happy with them because they bought different exhaust which is what I'm going to be doing as well. Is it worth it or should I just be patient till I do what I want.

I would just be patient. I bought a set of SE slip-ons because I was tired of having a loud exhaust on my bike (V&H sideshots). I put on the SE slip-ons and they were way too quiet. I still wanted some exhaust noise. Almost reminded me of the stock mufflers.
If you want loud (most people do), they are actually a few decibels louder than stock but are still under the EPA recommended 80 decibels. Other aftermarket exhausts are in the upper 90s and some are even over 100 decibels. Something that is 90 decibels would be twice as loud as something that is 80 decibels (decibels are done on a log scale). So a set of V&H (around 100 decibels) would be around 3 times as loud as the new SE slip-ons.
