The viagra triangle leaves alot to be desired as far as good food and entertainment goes anyhow. If im not welcome on my scoot I sure wont go there on foot either. I also agree on the noise applying to all vehicles I live near all the late night clubs and I can say for a fact that no Harley is louder than a Lamborghini redlining at 7000 rpm in a parking lot just for fun and I watched as a cop just drove by him.

Default Silence is Golden

Just got a ticket this past Saturday for loud pipes here in Golden CO. Seems they have a new "silence is golden" campaign designed to run the loud bikes out of town due to all of the complaints. There is on very popular biker bar though where lots o folks tie one on and rip out of there making all kinds of noise downtown, this I think was the main agitator to people in the area. It was fun for a while to cruise these, but now they are writing everyone up even when not getting out of hand.

I can kind of understand. I've ended up behind a group of 4-5 on a few occasions downtown in my area. Together, we're loud enough that we've set off sensitive car alarms. It's very loud, but fortunately there aren't a lot of bikes in my area to cause a concern (plus, at least 50% are military or former military). I haven't heard of anyone here being pulled over for being too loud, but if there were more bikes, I'd expect it.

The quality of sound is something I appreciate in my bike. I don't want it loud to **** anyone off, but hearing it rumble is a sign to me that my bike is working hard.

But if it's pissing off a majority of people, then I'd understand. I don't want to be that much of an ******* (though I'd be bitter about changing my pipes),

I recently put on V&H slip-ons and they are really loud - I`m just waiting for my 1st ticket - I ordered the baffles but I don`t think that will make a big difference.

I still think it is a wrong place and the wrong time type of situation.

I understand the complaints of loud pipes in quiet residential areas... but have you guys ever been on Rush street on weekend nights during the summer... in Chicago of all places? The streets are laces with bars/clubs and restaurants with their streetside windows and doors wide open allowing music to spill into the streets. Not to mention the sounds of crowds and cars flooding the slow crawling streets. Yet my pipes were too loud.

Personally, I'm not a Rush street type of guy. I would love to blow down the street high RPM's. Agreed it is a loud area, but if riders are consistenly being ticketed there, find an alternative route.

It's still BS.

I ahve to think the V&H Short Shots w/ Quiet Baffles would be legal. They are a closed baffle. The Std "baffles" are straight pipes w some coregation.

I would think they would be legal as well.

Pretty broad statement. Probably give PD the discretion. Unfortunate.
