Looking for the part number for a stock speedometer for an 06 1200 custom. I fried mine, and cant seem to find a part number for the stock replacement. any clue how much one will cost?

There is a small white sticker on the yellow case of the rear of the speedo. I needed one for my 99 Sporty, and called the Dealership. They gave me 3 numbers, one for hugger, one for custom, and one for stock Sporty. I found one on Ebay, new in box, for a little over a hundred.

Are you sure it is the speedo? Often the problem is in the sensor. A single allen bolt holds the one in my 99, pull it out and clean it before tearing anything down. IMO, that is the first step.

But if you are sure it needs replacing, check Ebay, for real.

A thousand pound weight moved off my shoulders when my speedo started working.

Part number 67403-04 is on the back of the speedo, but I'm not sure if they no longer make that part or what. Searched it on zanottis and no luck. anybody know of a new part # for a replacement

Ther are some 67403's on Ebay. The last number is the year, the ones on ebay were for a different model. Call your dealer and ask them what the difference is. Be careful putting it back on, I bent my pins and thought I would never get that SOB in place. Gonna have to do it again if I ever get the tins painted and back together.

Dealer doesn't want to discuss part numbers with me. Says a replacement is 270 somethin, yet the custom aluminum spun one is some 60 cheaper? I have seen many differnt part numbers for speedometers. Does anybody know how many are compatable with 06 custom?

The dash number (-xx) on Harley parts indicates the year that the part was introduced. The Sporty was completely redesigned in 04. Based on a Google search, there are no subsequent -xx numbers listed since the -04, so the speedo 67403-04 should be the correct stock part. Nothing manufactured for models prior to 04 will work.

As far as aftermarket speedo's that may or may not be compatible, you'll have to refer to the manufacturer.
