Well I turn to you guys for some much needed advise. Im about to start repairing my G/F 04 sportster 883 custom that she crashed a few months back. Its in need of some moderate repair(controls,signals,bars, levers etc....(frame wheels forks are straight) I have an 09 Deluxe and through this forum have educated myself pretty good about my bike,
Hers on the other hand im a little in the dark about. Im not sure about the differnt years in which i can swap parts with her 04. So my question is. Her bike is an 04 883 custom are 04 thru 06 are similar in parts can i go back years? What are your thoughts of dented tanks and a minor dented front fender? fixable or buy new ones and have them repainted.

Post pictures of the damaged fender and tank, people can help make a better assessment.

 

The 04-06 are very compatible. 03 and earlier are completely different animals. 07 and up adds EFI so things like fenders are OK but the fuel tank would be out.
