Enricher Choke Valve is sticky
I ride my bike everyday. Then i went on vacation for a week. And came back and rode that day couldn't wait to get back on her. But ive noticed after ive gotten back the bike took many times to turn over and start. Plus the enricher valve is very "sticky" Its not a smooth pull in or push in. It jumps and sticks. What gives? Can i fix it? Should i have they worry about it cause its under warranty?

RE: Enricher Choke Valve is sticky
I've been having some weird problems with my enrichner cable as well. I've adjusted it only to see it continue to do the same thing and I've brought it to the dealer to have them adjust it as well. It continues to act funky and the dealer has told me they've never seen anything like it before. They are blaming the Harley Davidson made chrome enrichner **** cover I have. So, Im removing it, and going to take it back to them again to show them thats not the problem. Im going to demand they replace the cable under warranty. It's a friggen $11 cable. They need to step up and take care of this under warranty.

I have the same problem for time to time with mine. I also have the chrome enrichner **** cover as well. The **** cover has nothing to do with the problem. I took some WD40 and sprayed a couple of shots on the cable and opened and closed it sever times, Works like new.
Good luck

Mine has similar problems, but started sticky and with much use became too loose. I think I like sticky better. At least the choke stays "in" then. Just learned about the tension ring, so that may cure my problem.
Adder: I found the tension ring, applied pliers and presto - it slips no more.

The enrichener **** is held in place with a threaded plastic ring that, when tightened, will cause friction on the cable that slides in and out. You don't need to tighten this with pliers. I would be careful in tightening it too much because you may break it. A small shot of WD40 will help a sluggish cable at the grabbing point but may also cause it to slide too easily therefore, making it more difficult to grab and hold it at the position that is needed. I would use a little squirt of graphite instead.
