Great looking 48. Also love the foot pegs but they look a little out of proportion because they are so long. Do those pegs function as a crash bar if the bike is tipped over?

I've been slowly making my bike my own. I have a springer seat on order and my heart set on some black pipes. here she is so far. I've added a Solo Bag from Lick's, Orange Screaming Eagle Plug Wires (tougher to install than I would have imagined), Silencer Shifter Peg (painted black), I added Black Silencer Foot Pegs too, but didn't like the feel of them (for sale cheap if anyone interested, modded to fit a 48). I enjoy doing little things like this to it. I traded in a 2002 Deuce for this, and I'm very satisfied with it. Now I go places so I have a reason to ride, instead of riding to go someplace.

Made a sissy bar for my 48. 1/2" bar stock, 1/8" plate for the mounting brackets. Made a template out of poster board for the mounting backet. Heated and bent the bar using a propane torch (don't have an oxy/acetelyne set). Welded it all together and Painted it with rustoleum truck bed paint. HD wants $199 and change for the sissy bar plus I think about $40 for the mounting hardware. Total cost for this sissy bar about $20 and of course my time of about 5-6 hours. Tell me what ya think. I have mixed feelings about how it looks.
