Default An inspirational thread...may the 48 live one...

Current Mods: Front and rear smoked LED turn signals by Custom Dynamics (fronts have white ring for running lights and cut off and blink yellow for turns), LED HD Daymaker headlamp, HD bobber seat with spring mount (saves your lower vertebrae from hard impacts going down the highway...i.e. bridges where asphalts slabs don't transition well), alarm system (HD), ignition and coil relocation kit by DK Customs (I removed the tank lift... it didn't look right on my setup; I prefer the low-slung look), S&S Stealth air intake with muscle cover in matte black, RSD front sprocket cover, V&H grenades exhaust system.... and just recently (not shown in photos) gloss black HD crash bars. The motor/exhaust was tuned with a Vines and Hines Fuel Pack 3.

I'd say the Stealth air intake with Muscle Cover is my favorite mod aesthetically. In terms of practicality the headlamp is my favorite mod. My least favorite would be the bobber seat in terms of practicality. I would have preferred something with a little more padding. Had I known it would be so uncomfortable, I would have went with a black or brown option from HD in a thicker padding; you can't beat the low profile aesthetics though. While it's not the most comfortable seat, it is an attractive addition to the bike IMO.

I'm hesitant to do much more to the bike as it may result in it just looking cluttered and butchered... I'm undecided on whether or not to pursue an ornamental willie G. Skull theme i.e. grips, shifter, pegs, fuel cap, derby and timing covers.

I added some night-shots because the setting appears to make the bike look more aggressive than during the day...

This was a fun post to look over ("Lets see you 48's.."). I hope it lives on for many years to come.

Lookin good. In regards to the wire tuck, how did you go about it? Did you just tape them in close to the sides of the frame under the tank with wiring tape?

Yeah that's basically it. They don't really fit under the tank, more to the sides along the frame and in the tunnel under the tank. They would fit totally under the tank if you did a lift.

Search the forums. There is a how to thread and a bunch of others have done it also.

I used self adhesive silicone tape. It's so much better than electrical tape.

Thank you for the reply. I figured as much (you tucked wires off to the side). It's good to know they fit along the inside channels a bit.

I may opt for the 1.5" lift, but I'm undecided as I don't like the tank to look lifted. I had the 2" lift and removed right away after rerouting the wires and all. I may just go the route you did with the self adhesive silicone tape as I don't have much faith in the longevity of wiring tape.

Thanks again for the response and ride safe.
