That is a good fix to the biggest problem I see with the 48. Out here there are lots of places where it is 100+ miles between gas stations.

Thanks guys!

I plan on going to Reno sometime this year with a few buddies and the 2.1 tank on the 48 is just too small. I wouldn't want to be filling up every 60-70 miles or so. Anyways, been reading some threads here about the 2.1 tank. Some guys here only average 60 miles before the the fuel light comes up. Do a lot of 48 owners average the same, at 60+ miles before seeing the fuel light?

I might upgrade to the 2013 iron tank as well in the near future.

My bike came with a 3.3 gal tank. 3 months later, I ordered a 4.5 gallon. I'd be even happier with a 6.0 gal...

Alex do you have any problem with that tank and the mirrors hitting?

My 2014 48.

I also agree with the small tank statement. Looks nice but it really is kind of obnoxious filling up so frequently. Breaking my engine in still but I'm averaging around 38 mpg currently.

I was in the same boat. 60 miles and the fuel light was on. I got nervous when riding back roads so I finally switched to the nightster tank. I really warmed up to its looks. And plenty of mirror clearance.

Blacked out the forks today. Will hopefully have some white walls fitted in a week or two.
