Thanks. I have alot done to it. No worry's on the tire question. Ask away. That's what this forum is for. Congrats on the 48 purchase! They are the stock tire sizes. The tires are Avon Cobra wide white walls. Expensive but worth it. very grippy tires! I love how they handle.

I came off a CBR600rr last over the past three years to a 48 this past summer. The power is great stock, but can get better with a few small mods. Mind you handling is not a sport bike level, but is nimble enough to keep me happy.

I think the 48 is one of the best looking Sportster production bikes to ever roll out of their factories. As far as what the company was going for, it's better than what was done with the 72 I think. It has terrific flow in stock form and honestly it frustrates me to see a lot of the modifications done to the 48 that completely ruin it's compact street fighter/bobber look. A lot of what I see done to the 48 didn't require the 48 model for a starting point. There's no way I could afford a new 48, but would love to have one and keep it pretty much stock. I remember when they first came out and was thinking to myself, I'll have to wait 15 years and get one used, would have to be stock though. I can go about 3 grand on a bike which is why it kills me to see some of the stuff done to 48s that are new or a year old. Hopefully there's a ton of people not changing them at all and only doing about 500 miles a year on them so they can be had by the broke shlub who appreciates the stock configuration.
