Would you recommend them? How do they grip? When I swap tires it's between those and the Firestone Deluxe Champs.

With all the talk about Im going to kill myself on vintage tires....dont take risks, get a modern tire blah blah blah........I was kinda freaked. The more I rode them the more my trust level went up. About a month ago I took the GF for a ride, came up to a very sharp curve a little too fast. I rarely scrape pegs, not only did I scrape my right peg.....HARD, I was so far over I scrapped my right blinker. The tires stuck like glue. 10 seconds after I was back upright the GF smacks me on the helmet saying WTF was that! Later on back at the house I wanted to see how far I was over, grabbed ahold of the handlebars and started tipping, once I got to the point right where my blinkers would hit I swear it looked like if I went another 2 inches I could let go of the bars cause the bike would be on its side.

Cokers own description says the only thing vintage on these tires are their size and tread design, they use modern materials and construction techniques to make them......I believe them.

Those fat tires do make for heavy steering though.......I got used to it.

Scrape on foot peg

Scrape on blinker

Thanks! A custom bike shop made it for me. Basically, cut the rear fender struts, removed stock fender, then used an off the shelf blank rear fender. Cut it to follow the side wall line, then welded on the half circle for the number plate. It has a brace that connects on the inside of the fender and mounts to the inside of the lower shock bolts. There is another bracket towards the front bottom of the fender which mounts to one of the stock belt guard mount.

Really happy how it came out. You can hardly see the main bracket that runs down to the lower shock bolt being it runs inline with the shock. If anyone wants closer pics I can take some and post them up.
