Does anyone know where I can find an extended rear axel to fit a 05 sportster? I got a side mount license plate designed to mount onto the axle but the stock one just isn't long enough...

I've dealt with those a couple of times...your plate mount should have a spacer with it to mount it to the lower shock bolt. If not you can make one pretty cheap. Probably alot cheaper than a longer axle.

 

Longer axle... bad idea. L-brackets are a lot cheaper, safer, easier to install and did I mention, cheaper?
