Default progressive springs

Well i just inatalled new progressive springs and fork oil on the wifes 883 hugger. What a difference. The bike rides so much better. The oil that was in the forks i think was ATF. I used belray 20 wieght. she is going to love the ride.

How stiff is the ride with the 20Wt oil ? I went with the Belray 15wt when I change out the stock springs for progressives. They do make a difference in the ride.....WVleo

I put Progressive fork springs in my 2007 1200C, I used the spacers at their full length and BelRay 7w oil. My front wheel can actually follow small irregularities in the road surface where before it only moved on big bumps. 13.5" 440 standards made the rear just as compliant. I added LAChoppers 1" lowering blocks to keep from getting too high and still have nearly 3.5" of travel.

20 weight oil seems thick, the forks should be stiff.
Stock oil is 5 weight, 15 weight fork oil with the stock springs works well, 10 weight, or the 5 weight with the progressives is nice.

But whatever works.

You might try some 10 weight in the future...

After changing my shocks to 13'' progressive 418's and front fork oil to 7 wt I also lowerd both tires to 30 PSI , and repaded my seat with 1 1/2 foam .

Default 20 weight oil

This was the set up from the bike shop. Seems to work well.
