1200C vs 1200L

Yes, I know its out of style, but I really liked the black and chrome motor.
One look was all it took.
I actually was looking for a dyna, used, or a leftover something, and happened to see the red 1200L and had to have one.
After years of spokes, wobbly rims, rust, rim locks, tubes, broken spokes, I was ready for mags.
I am really glad I got the bike I got, looking at other bikes, there is nothing I like as much, and I do enjoy the sporty ride.
The only thing I would wish for is a bit more room two up.
The sissy bar seems too far forward.

I love my 1200c and in the past had a 83 Iron w/mid that I converted to forwards. Before that my 79iron had mids.
I like forwards better, I like the look of a 21 but wish I had dual disks.
One more thing to think about is the speedo. The C's have only the one and no headlight hood. I love that and think it looks 1000% better than the dual gauge setup.
I guess my perfect sporty would be my current 1200c with a 19mag in front with dual disks on mid glide trees, maybe a buell inverted fork setup.....
And as for my stats, I am 6' and currently #215...

I also wish the C model had dual front breaks, but was not a deal breaker. I like the 21" spoked front wheel but did not like the Dunlops it was wearing so I tossed them and went with Avon Venoms and have no issues at all with stability in the turns or on irregular roadway. Also I'm a fan of forward controls. That's why there are so many Sportster flavors to each His own ( and as long as My wife is paying for My Sportster, I'll have it My way LOL LOL ). ....WVleo

Got the same exact bike and color
I got a 2009 1200 low, because I wanted mid controls, wanted the mag wheels, and loved the red paint and black with chrome motor.
It was too low and small for me, but I put a different seat and bars on and its nice.
I think the suspension on all the sportsters is very poor, but the low bikes might be worse than the others due to shorter shocks (less wheel travel).
I put one inch longer shocks on, progressive fork springs, and it rides nice.
The stock seat on the low has almost zero padding.
Mags have many advantages over spokes. You don't see many cars with spokes anymore. Plus you can plug a flat on a tubeless tire...
