Holy crap! Passing the wires internally in these bars is a PITA! I don't have to to finish them. I'll just dimple them out and run the externally for this week-end since I'm heading over to Laconia. When I get back I'll run them internally...maybe, lol!

Ok, so I'm gonna try and get this thread to turn over. I just need a can of ether, and..........really, I'm doing some keystones and I can get past the extreme angle at the top but nothing will slide past the 90 at the bottom. Tried fishing sting, guitar wire, dish soap, nothing. Anyone else got a trick?

i internally wired bitwell friscos not too long ago. similar to keystones, especially with the 90 degree at the bottom. First, it is a real PITA, but you know that already. To get them around that bend takes finesse over brute strength. You've got to push them through from the top and pull at the same time. Move them back and forth until they make the turn. They will make it. Brute force pulling will not do it, however.

are you trying to pull them with the connectors from the plug still attached? That also creates a problem. After several attempts, I cut my wires and they pulled through much easier. Then soldered them back together.

I cut the ends off. There is no way they would have made it still attached. I think I found my problems anyway. I covered the wires in shrink tubing to protect them. This led me to two conclusions. First, the tubing was getting caught on a sharp edge somewhere in the bar, made apparent by the dig marks when I pulled them back out. Second, Having seen this I now know there is a rough spot and am concerned about it cutting into wires. To fix this I plan on sandblasting the inside of the bars to smooth down any burs or sharp corners. Then I am having the bars powdercoated a different color anyway so I am going to have the coater shoot powder as far into the bars as possible to try and give me a slick surface to pull the wires on. Hopefully it works.
