Which Amsoil Lubricants?

On my bike (2009 1200L) I use one quart in the primary/trans, and about 2.5 in the oil tank. Dont overfill.I just add the primary oil through the chain inspection hole (check chain at same time). At 2500 miles, I have changed the lube 2 times, first time I tried bel ray trans lube (for sportsters), for the 2nd change I used the Harley stuff.I want to find some 75w90 mobil 1 gear lube, it seems to be sold out or they only have the limited slip stuff. With the Harley lube, the primary screams when hot and I let off the gas.The weight is a tradeoff between clutch operation, the ability to lube things like needle bearings, and quieting big gears. The clutch and needle bearings like thin lube, the gears like thick lube...For the motor oil, I used mobil 1 V twin oil the first time, mobil 1 15w50 car oil the second time.I like using oil I can get anyplace, and as long as its a good synthetic that handles the heat of an air cooled motor, I dont care what brand it is.I think its a bit odd to use some special oil when 95% of people put very little miles on a bike, and don't keep it long before upgrading or crashing....Brett

You only have 2 holes in your bike. Maybe you should get a manual before you fock it up. It pretty obvious you need to learn a lot of other things before which oil you need to buy.

Motor oil & Gear oil viscosity (weight) is measured on 2 different scales. As shown below on the chart, a 20w-50 Engine (motor) oil and a 75w-90 Gear oil are essentially the same viscosity (weight, thickness etc.)
The difference in the 2 oil types is the additive package in the oils. Motor oil additives are designed to deal with the byproducts of the combustion process in the motor, while Gear oil additives are designed to deal with molecular shearing that occurs in a gearbox.
