Default Oil Level on a 1999 Sportster

I don't have a manual and am on a tour on my ultra, visiting and a friend borrowed a 1999 Sportster and I need to know where the oil level on the dip stick should be? There are just two marks on the stick. should the dip stick be fully seated and then the oil at the top mark when on the side stand?

Any help would be nice, Thanks

EVO Sporties are best run with the oil level 1/2 way between the ADD and FULL marks on the dipstick.

Measured with the oil HOT and with the bike on the jiffy stand.
