Default Tire size question Avon Vemon X

Hey All:

I just got the new '48 front wheel, machined it for dual discs and its off at the powder coaters for color. also got the Brake Tech 13" dual discs and adapters. xr1200 forks are at the Ohlins shock guys being shortened....

She has a 150/80/16 Vemon x on the rear (www) and wants a similar tire on the front. I can't find a 150/80/16www front (or at least one that is www), so my question is:

Does anyone know where I can source a Front Venom X 150/80/16 www?

if not:

Has anyone used the rear Venom X 150/80/16 tire on the front? Is there a reason one can't?

also, btw, how similar is a mt90hb-16 www front?

Thanks!

I know of no reason why you can't use a rear tire on the front.

The main difference is tread depth. A rear tire on the front is fine.

^^^what those guys said. Pretty sure you'd be safe using a rear tire on front. Tread depth and width are the main differences

The Venom-X front has a center groove to remove water under the tire for traction. The rear does not. I would not recommend it. IMHO

Doesn't quite hold water........lots of fronts don't have a center groove.

That why I said IMHO. The Venom-X front does have a center groove. The rear does not. Look @ pic of my bike in my profile. The front is a Venom-X

Here is want Metzler say's about mounting a rear tire on the front (item #3). I suspect that Avon may be similar.
The translation means that the tire should be mounted in the wrong direction (rotation arrow pointing backwards).

According to this they do make a front WW in a MT90B16WW. It has the same diameter just not as wide (.8" narrower) same as a 130/90-16. Which is what the 48 come with on the front.
