'09 1200C, stock mufflers opened 3/4" and stock breather opened up with a dremel.

Base line dyno - 60.21 hp @ 5800 rpm 70.42 ft lbs @ 3500 rpm 14.03 A/F

M-TTS tune - 74.67 hp @ 6200 rpm 75.99 ft lbs @3200 rpm 13.01 A/F

So I spent $400 on the M-TTS including dyno time and $6.95 for a 3/4" x 3' round stock.

I gained 15 hp and 5 ft lbs for a cost ratio of $27 per HP

That's pretty cheap HP however the HP cost will greatly increase for any additional gains.

OP has an 883 not 1200, let's not mislead with unrelated power gains.

An 883 with similar mods can expect a gain of approximatively of 9 HP and 3 Ft lbs.

That would be about $44 per HP on a 883.

And what was the total amount spent; $400 for SERT and then $100+ for dyno tuning for how many HP over the canned stage 1 download?
Fair question--first, I added the Mastertune TTS not the SERT or the newer HD version (SE Super Pro Tuner or something like that). I added it because this winter I'm going to upgrade to a 1250 anyways and will need it for that conversion. The Mastertune TTS was $382 and the overall time spent installing the pipes and dyno tuning ran a total of $310. So let's say $700--the bike increased by 9 hp and almost 10 ft. lbs. of tq (stock hp/tq was 44/42, after dyno run 53.07/51.72). But like I said the whole reason I did this is because of the 1250 upgrade at season's end. (I can not compare this to a canned stage 1 download numbers for you as I have no idea what those numbers are.) Hope this helps.

We really need a before/after comparison between the stage 1 download and the custom dyno tune.

I bought my Iron with all the mods already done to it. When I took it to the dealer for an oil change, they tried to tell me that I really "wanted" a SERT and custom dyno tune. He couldn't guarantee gains though just a "better" running bike. They also tried the same crap with me with my SG and the PC-V with AT I installed on it.

If I had $30K in the Iron it may be a different story, but if I had half that in it, I'd already be crazy.

Yep, I agree, I'd like to see the before/after stg 1 comparison. I got the same story with my Dyna Fat Bob, dealer wanted me to get everything done and I was just adding slip-ons and a billet HD air cleaner but only wanted the stg 1 download. It ran great in terms of power, no problems with the operation, and it wasn't overly hot when running.

EDIT--I was reviewing my bill and realized the $310 service bill also included installation of the Progressive front spring and rear shocks--so my numbers are skewed higher than they should be if you try to figure the cost per hp/tq.
