Default Short Shots/Side Shots vs. Straight Shot Slip Ons

Ok, here's another one...

Now that I have replaced the Air Cleaner and rejetted the carb, I can start saving up for the exhaust. Can anyone help me with the differences when it comes to power, sound, and expense? Should I look at Cycle Shack Slip ons?Looking for the biggest bang for my buck. Thanks again.

I'd look at anything but Vance and Hines pipes. Way too many people have them.

Good point! Not trying to look like everyone else, but I hear a lot of good things about Vance & Hines. I might want to point out that I might want to wrap the pipes at some point... always liked the way wrapped pipes look.

If you're gonna wrap the pipes then get some slip ons and wrap your header pipes. IMO best bang for the buck otherwise getting a full system you're also paying for heatshields that you won't use

Slipons are by far the best bang for your buck, you would have to spend a bunch of money to find something that will work better.

Decided to go with the Cycle Shack Slip Ons... I have heard a lot of good things about them and the price is just right....

Horsepower Wise

The Sideshots are the best performing 2-2 looking pipe out there and you dont see many of them.

The secret is the crossover built in to the pipes

I basically ran a Head to Head with a Supertrapp on my bike and they were very close on the Dyno

I got the cycle shacks and love them. If you are handy with tools check out the threads where you can take the stock muff's and just remove the baffle. Some put it back in with bigger holes and even in backwards. No $$ and they do sound good baffle-less.
Or these are IMHO some sick looking pipes.

I've had the shortshots, and now have the sideshots. higher priced, louder, not many seen, and way better performance wise. Just what i've discovered.
