Default Sundowner Install

This may be a dumb question but I have been trying to find the answer as to where the step washer P/N 7487 goes. The destructions don't actually say and I'd like to use it for my ride to work tomorrow.

Thanks.

Jon

the retention washer goes thru the hole in the fender that is usually covered by a plastic plug.

if it's what i think it is and you are switching from the solo seat to the two up, the washers has a clip on the top side of the fender you slide off then the threaded piece comes off from the underside. just move it back to the rear hole in the fender the same way and secure it with the clip. It's really easy if it's what I think it is.

The parts book refers to the "retention washer" on the package it is called a 1/4 step washer. Does it replace the original retention washer that is already in place? I have a nightster and it doesn't exactly show what I am supposed to be doing with this part.

Take the washer out of the current hole for the solo seat, remove the plastic plug that is on the rear fender behind the current place the solo seat was screwed into. Place that plastic plug in the hole you just removed the washer from. Install washer in the rear hole you just removed the plastic plug from.

Quick Tip: The last step is easier if you use a cable tie to help get the washer in place.

That's debatable...I like the OEM better than the Sundowner I put on to please my +1 but that is just MY opinion.

Sure, it's all a matter of opinion, but I went back to the OEM once (as I think it looks tons better) and I couldn't take it. Ugly as all hell, but I think it is comfy, and most agree.
