Woah now! I didn't say I knew from experience!! Bahahaha.
my last two bikes came from craigslist... i dont buy parts or other bike stuff there, but for me- its a great place to find bikes.
am looking for my next one right now! (have to admit that i first have to solve the garage space problem- thinking of losing a cage so i can fit lotsa bikes)
Just bought my 2004 1200 custom (w/ bassani pipes and k&n air) with 1500 miles for $4900 off CL from northern new jersey. No problems and a great deal i thought. Probably could re-sell end of season if i wanted for the same price i bought it.
bought my bike on CL this past jan. i utilize both oklahoma city and dallas for hunting down bikes/parts/etc... mostly because dallas is so much bigger and only 3hrs down I-35. i actually found my bike on dallas CL and drove bout 45 mins SE of dallas to pick it up. i too check CL daily for odds and ends things.
I recently sold a bike on CL. It took me about 6 months of random postings but finally, I sold it. Got a little less than I had hoped for but thats not unusual.
Seems the people using CL are there looking for bargains and wheeling and dealing, moreso than the people using Ebay.
