Default 2003 harley sportster exhaust needed

I just bought a 2003 Sportster 883 and i want a very loud mean sounding exhaust with good performance. Is anyone selling a used exhaust system for this year bike or do you have any preferences on what i should buy for sound and performance??

Thanks!!

I put Cycleshack slip ons on mine. Not extremely loud but gives it a really good sound, also no need to retune! They run about $200.

My 2003 Sporty 1200 has the SE II system, and it is by far the loudest bike I have in the stable which includes a Heritage Classic with Vance & Hines, a Ducati 1098S with Arrow Titanium Thunders, and a Suzuki GSXR1000 with Yoshimura RS-3 shorty.

I have cycle shack slip ons as well. I gotta disagree, they are about the loudest pipes on the street; standing next to the bike at idle it is hard to carry a normal conversation without yelling at the other person. The baffles are easily removable (one bolt holds them in) to pump up the volume even more. I paid $150 on e-bay for the set.

Jaymac, cycle shacks are what you are looking for.

Slip-ons would be the cheapest option. Rush, Cycle Shacks, and V&H make some great slip-ons if you are concerned about price. If you want a full exhaust then I would look at V&H, folks have had a lot of success with using them on their sporties.

My brother has 1"3/4 drag pipes he got at JP cycles on his 883 its got a high pitched sound that sounds great and I think he only paid about 120 bucks that is with no baffles or heat shields but it does sound great even at high speeds and loud as hell

I would watch EBAY, I have bought several stock exhaust systems on there over the years. The best head pipes you can use are the 99 and older ones and then use any good after market slip on muffler, just don't go to biog on the core size on some of the brands that you can get more than one size.
