Default 06 Sportster Spits and sputters

Hey guy's, I got another issue, in the mornings...on my way to work, the old girl acts like she is running low on gas, but the tank has been at different levels when this happens. It only does it in the mornings, and it only does it for one "spit", then it quits for a few miles....then another "sputter". I have tried letting it warm up to the point of nearly overheating before taking off. Switched to super unleaded gas...didn't work. In the afternoons when I get off work....she runs perfect. Plugs maybe?????
Thanks
Razor

FWIW, mine is doing the same thing. I only notice it for the first few miles. I am going to change plugs to see if that helps.

could it be moisture in the gas tank from sitting overnight? Hot days and cool nights make for condensation. Just a thought.

Thanks Wood, appreciate the info. I never thought about the condesation thing, it is humid as hell here in east texas, nearly 100 everyday in the summer and around 60 at night. I know I do get condesation in my rear tailight, which in turn corodes the connection, which in turn, blows the bulb about every 4 months.

Hi: Regarding the corrosion of your tailight, remove the bulb and put a little light weight grease or silicone grease on the bulb base and socket. I do this on boats which get a lot wetter and it really helps. Then wipe the bulb glass down with alchol to remove body oils and grease. Might also put a little alcohol in your gas, cheap water deispersent. Good luck

if your bike is EFI Take your gas cap off shine a light down into it and than turn on the if you are getting alot of fuel spray inside the take when it is primeing the fuel. Than you most likely have a bad fuel regulator in the take good luck
