Default passengers on 1200 Sportster

Hows the ride for you and the passenger on a 1200 Sportster Costom. I am 6 ft -- 200 lbs. My wife is 54 and 130 lbs. it seems that we will be quite cramped and the weight may also be a problem for comfort.. I'm wondering if I should get a Dyna instead.

I'm 6', 160lbs, my wife in 5'2" 92lbs, and it fits us perfect.

I took my mother on it and she is like 5'5" 165 or so, and I had to scoot forward on the seat. I do have a sissy bar which limits how far back the passenger can sit, but that is my experience.

As far as weight... you'll just have to adjust your suspension. Powerwise you're more than fine.

Don't think I'd want to ride two up on the Sporty. Just doesn't seem like it would be that comfortable. I even removed the stock 2-up seat and replaced it with a beautiful custom solo seat with embroidered flames.

I'm 6' 180 and the wife is 5'3 and 135. We ride 2-up all the time. Most we've done is about a 5 hour ride however with a break or two.

But, the stock seat had to go, took her 1 two hour ride on it with the stock seat and she refused to ride it again till I got a more comfortable seat. We replaced the stock with the HD pillow touring seat and we added a sissy bar and pad too. It's fine for us, but I don't think I'd want to do a big time multi-day cross country with it.

+100

I don't ride '2-up' on any bike, be it my 1200C, Dyna WideGlide, or Road King.

I'm 5'10" 200 and my wife is 5'6" 130 we have no problem. the longest ride we rode was just over 200 miles, through hills and all back roads. never had to stop and take a break.

I don't ride two up. As much as I love my Sportster, I would probably have a soft tail if I did.

My wife and I love riding 2up. We talked about getting her a bike to learn, but we'd both just assume ride the same bike when together. I still ride 75% of the time by myself, but we both riding 2up on the sporty.

I do think the seat is very important. I hope to find a deal on a touring seat this winter, because our seat is terrible for touring.

just get the Sundowner seat and a nice wide and tall backrest... maybe even passenger floor boards for her too...

then you should be able to do an hour+ easy non-stop...

just watch out for the bumps and potholes... the suspension on the Sporty's aren't too forgiving

I have the badlander style seat, and my wife and I ride for hours at a time... it just hurts [:@] Don't think I would go as far as getting a sundowner, I definately want something different.
