Default nightster is breaking my back!

I have to do something to make my 07nightster feel/ride better on my back.

I was thinking of going with progressive 412's or 412's HD (dont know which one is better) and a new seat but I don't know on the seat. I have read mustangs and a few other brands are good but I want to maitain that slick look but be comfortable. Any one have pics they want to share with their seat installed on a nightster?

I can go about 200 miles then my low back is just killing me. I want to make it where it is not so harsh on bumps in the road. Heck my friends GSX was softer then my bike is!

What do you suggest

I think you are on the right track, but also I hear that a change of bars can make a huge difference. It will change how you sit on the bike. Drag bars, apes, ect. I haven't done any of that, except for the seat, but you would not like the looks of the "Sundowner" on your Nightster. More will chime in (keepin at the top for ya).

new seat, HD Brawler was ok, but others like Lapera or mustang. shocks helped too, but i don't think my ohlins were worth the price until I figure out how to soften the ride more. Then sissy bar with a sleeping bag or something behind you for extra support is what was suggested to me.

You might also want to try a taller handlebar. It could be as easy as throwing on some taller risers or you could get some apes. Taller bars will keep you sitting up straighter which is better on the back.

As far as seats go, I think the Mustang Vintage Solo looks awesome on the solo seat bikes! There are quite a few Nightster guys with them so hopefully one of them can bring some pics to the thread.

And for shocks. The air shocks off the touring models make for the best ride from what I have heard people say. I have heard people trading their expensive progressives in for these things because they are that much better. The best part about them is the price! If you are patient you can get them wayyy cheaper than even a used set of progressives on Ebay! Search Road King shocks on here to research more on them.

I like what I have read about the RK air shocks and thats what I am going to go with.

Does brand matter on these? Everyone just called them RK shocks and no brand listed. I was thinking of the 12" ones...

Found these on ebay... too cheap of quality?

Also found these...HERE

If the ones you posted are brand new, then I would say that is a pretty great deal. Most people go with the actual HD name brand shocks. Most of the touring guys think the stock air shocks are crap or they need lower/taller shocks on their bikes so they upgrade and sell the stock ones on classifieds and Ebay. If you look you could probably pick up a used set for less $100.

200 miles! Hell man, if you can go that long without getting off the bike I tip my hat to you. I'm lucky if I can ride for even an hour without my back, butt and everything else screaming for some stretching.

I am seriously thinking of going with air suspension for my Nightster.

Either Legend (which is pretty pricey but I like the all black hardware) http://www.legendsuspensions.com/onr...sportster.html

Or the cheaper Arnott's kit http://www.arnottairsuspension.com/p...sp?groupId=131

Trust me.... I feel that 200 miles and won't ride for days. I have put 18k on the bike so far. I feel the pain lmao. Plus the wobbles in the corners

I might try these cheaper ones. I don't care if it says harley on them or not. To me... riding a motorcycle is what is all about, does not matter brand... IMO, don't flame me though lol.
