Well if the lights would dim when I press the starter button itīs probably not that. I had some 2032 batteries and replaced the one in the fob, no luck. I talked to the guys I bought if from and they said that the lights wouldnīt dim even if the battery was bad (was talking about a bad cell). Gettinī a new after the weekend and keeping my fingers crossed. Feels sad to have to have to repair it after only 450 km. Itīs probably/hopefully something minor.

In regards to the lights dimming, mine did I looked at it to purchase. The battery was dead and didn't have enough to power the lights and the starter solenoid.

The easiest thing to check is to put a voltmeter on the battery and see what it's reading. You can pick one up at Radio Shack for around $10.00.

If nothing happens when you press the starter it could be the fuse or solenoid on the starter but I doubt it's either. Most likely it is a dead battery.

You will probably need one anyways, but you should pick up a small trickle charger or one of those battery tenders some of the guys here are talking about.

Check your battery bolts too. If they get loose this will happen.

A+++++++ doh, can't believe I didn't suggest that right off. With the way harleys vibrate I'm surprised everything isn't loose after a good ride.

But, the security system does draw power unless it's disabled.
must be somthing wrong with mine then , every time I unhook the batt. I have to reset the clock.

You are correct, I forgot that the newer models have clocks built into the speedo, and yes, the clock would require power to keep running.

The clock however, is independent from the bike's computer system and memory and like a wristwatch, would run for years on nothing larger than a watch battery.

Bike in Gear? Try the simple things first.
(I only suggest this because I have solved other threads with this simple solution).

Changed the battery in the fob again and to my amazement it started!

awesome!!! glad you got it worked out.

You said you had two fobs right? odd that they would both be dead at the same time. I've had fobs for my last 3 trucks and never had one die with heavy use......
