Default Found the Look! kind've...

I think I've found the addition I've been looking for. Check these out:

BAGS

The problem is they only come in high gloss black, and the look I'm trying to get includes them matching the color of the tins.

Does anyone know how difficult/expensive it is to have stuff like this painted? Can you get a color match at a local auto paint shop?

In my opinion, bags on sportsters = NO! Good luck with it though.

Sorry mate, but I'd have to agree. I don't really care for hard bags on a sporty. However, it's your bike. Regarding the painting, if you don't do anything fancy, I'd suspect you can find a local body shop that can paint them for maybe $300 or so and should be able to match the color.

You will need to check with an automotive paint supply store to see if they have the color mix codes for your bike.Harley will not give out the paint mix codes to even a body shop around here.A paint supply store did have the codes for mine though. The kicker is a quart of paint from the dealer is only 10 bucks more than apint from the paint supply store. That is our cost through the dealer I work for.Off the street prices may be higher.A quart would be plenty to paint two hard bags though.Plus you will need some clear.Ask the body shop how much they would charge just to perform the labor if you supply the paint. My paint(one quart) was $135 plus tax for fire red pearl.Reds are the most expensive so yours should be lower.I just checked your link. You may want to price the HD hard bags they will already be in your color.Once you add the price of those bags and painting them it may cost more than HD bags.

Ditto on the paint. I personally love my bags and since this is a pleasure bike, I find that the bags come in extremely handy. Having them also allows me to run errands, etc. on the bike instead of having to take my car. If you also throw in weekend getaways and an overnight bag.....I just don't see how you can go wrong with bags, but to each his own. That's one of the many great things about these bikes - you can make them your own. You gotta do what's right for you when it comes to style and function.
