I don't think so....
I let my bike run for about 30 min while it cured after that no more smoke

I used metal clamps instead of the snap straps, but do I really need the coating? I called and the guy even had the rep there at that moment and they said no and so did the mechanic.

Do I need it? can I just pick it up at kragen? it's not the ceramic coating is it? i thought that was for the inside of pipes. Another guy told me not to use the wrap at all because the pipes will crack. It's on their and looks cool, but I just want to know if I did it right
Just make certain that that wrap stuff is what you want to look at for the rest of the bikes life because there is no going back after you've used it, at least for the exhaust system. That stuff will totally destroy the heat shields that are on there now.
I just bought a set of pipes that had that stuff put on them for 100 miles and it turned stainless steel totally black because it causes over heating of the exhaust pipe itself and you WILL notice more heat coming off the engine than you did previously.

iron71, I really like the wrap you did! I'm gonna wrap my pipes too, any tips or advice. What color is that wrap you used? I have an all black 09 nightster so I thought of going with black, but the color you used is pretty sharp. (yeah I ****ed up my front heat shield last week after too many shots of crown, no more motorcycle rodeos for this guy)

I rode the smoke off. seems fine, but the bike feels different. could be me, I'm a hypochondriac about anything I take a tool to. I definitely gotta clean it up, i was sloppy at the end. with the 2" wrap I think you need 2 clamps per pipe to keep it from fraying. I'm also gonna fold it under like another poster said. I wish I'd wrapped to the end of the pipes, but stopped in front of the mounting plate. This could cost my wife some melted shoes......

Anyone with wrapped Bassanni Sweepers? I was thinking about going with these but I can't find a black set for what I'm willing to spend. I just want to make sure they're tough enough to not crack.

I just want to thank all you guys for the info about this subject, I am currently in Afghan and bought some V&H Side Shots for my bike on leave and they looked good, but I really love the look of the pipes being wrapped, so it's gonna get done when I get home. Laters.
