Hmmm, Nightster or Custom
#31
2. If you do everything to a Nightster that one might like about a custom (tank, 21" front wheel, chrome, etc) then why buy a Nightster?

Unless you have some really specific needs, I say don't try to use logic. Go completely with the gut. Of course if you have some specific needs ect. then you have to do a pro-con thing, but otherwise you'll only be happy if you go check them both out, then go with what you feel. If you feel nothing either way than you probably should keep looking.

Thanks for all the responses everyone.
I'm leaning more towards the nightster, its that gut feeling. i keep comparing the two and they both seem great, but there is something that is just telling me... you want the nightster.
Hopefully it won't be too long before i am in the position to make the purchase (need another paycheck or 2 in).
Will post up some pics when i get it

what are peoples thought on mini apes?
look wise i think they're pretty cool, although i don't like the handlebars that come way way up (sorry im not exactly the best with all this motorcycle lingo).
My dad said that mini apes would most likely make it a lot harder to handle (he was a dirt bike kind of guy though) and he hates the look of mini apes.... he said if i get mini apes he won't ride the bike at all (hey i guess thats an advantage! :P).

I've checked insurance costs, and the 1200N or C are around $65 a month for me, i also checked an 883C and insurance was still $60.
i LOVE the look of the Iron, but i have not found ANY second hand ones (prob due to being a very recent model).
I can imagine how the custom would be a bitch to keep polished, although i've seen a couple of the roads over here and damn do they stand out.
i was quoted $10,300 for a new 883C by the local Harley Dealer, so i am def. wanting to go second hand.
I would only get an 883 if an second hand Iron came about, and then i would have the intention of a 1200 or 1250 conversion kit within the near future.
Thanks for the input colonelangus1

Funny, but there were/are used 1200's on ebay and craigslist for more coin than I got a new one for?
And the dealer did all that paperwork BS for me, it took under an hour and I was rolling home on the new bike!
A VERY drastic change from the 1969 Triumph Daytona I been riding for the last 5 years...
I advise checking with all the local dealers to find out what the prices really are...
