I think it comes down to how clean you keep your bike and if you remove the bra when you wash it.

It surely could trap dirt inside and cause some nasty scratches but if you take extra care of your bike I'm sure it could be prevented.

I'm not a big fan of bras on bikes or cars. They do more damage than good. Bought the wifes sporty that had a bra on it. First thing i did was pull the thing off and the tank has marks where the seams are on the bra rubbing the tank. Previous owner had the right idea, because the seat really rubs the back of the tank. So, I guess you have to take the lessor of two evils.

IMO, that's probably true if you ride the bike once a week to the local watering hole and back, and then wash the bike when you get home.

If you ride frequently and wash the bike every couple of weeks, then the bra will damage the finish. The bra is also a bit of a pain in the **** to put on and take off, which eventually will lead to it not being done and damage will likely be the result.

Just my 2¢

Ahh I c. But what does a drag bar have to do with it?

Uh, you typically have to bend forward a bit to reach the drags. This can cause gut rub on the tank for some folks.

I was thinking that I might get closer to the tank with the drag bar, increasing the risk of scratching it. The new handle bar isn´t installed yet so I don´t know if I in fact will. I´m driving my bike at least every day and will wash it every other week so for me it seems a bra might not be a good idea.

Thanks

I just had a buddy of mine Rhino Line the bottom half of his tank along with other parts. It looks tough.

Holy crap! wash a bike every 2 weeks. I'm lucky if i wash mine 3 times a year. But when I clean it up its about a 3 hour ordeal. I'm old school, I would rather ride than clean.

I depends on how wide you are and if you wear coats with zippers. Any type of a bra has to be removed regularly and cleaned under and you have to keep it well waxed and you also need to remove them if they get wet.
Bras will help but you can't just put it on and forget it like so many people do.
