Default 500 miles!

After 1 week (seemed like an eternity of putting around under 50 and then under 60), finhally hit the 500 mi mark. Time to see what the beast can do. I don't have words to discribe what I felt like after a 70 mile ride this evening on a clear 70 degree sunny evening here in the NW (70 miles north of Seattle). Did it all, including the freeway. Got be carefull though, before I knew it I was at 70 and hadn't gone to 5th yet! Stopped for gas and for a Starbucks and had 4 guys ask me how I liked my new bike. Guess I might have looked like a kid at Christsmas or something. I am definitely born again HD.

Sounds like you had a good time out there on the road.

I lived in the Seattle area for a few years (Des Moines, Kent, etc.) and that's some nice country for riding.

Just be careful, as it seems that motorcycles are 'invisible' to 99% of the drivers at any given time.

Congrats! I've only had mine about 6 months and have 5k on it already. It just keeps getting better. It feels like it runs better with each 1k it gets put on it.

This is probably a dumb question, but why do you have 3 HD's? How do you find time to ride and enjoy them all?

Me?

Well, I've been riding Harley's since the early 1970's, most of them were either traded or sold, but I've always had a couple different models available to ride at any given time.

I haven't had the Road King all that long, as it was recently purchased to help out a friend that was having some financial problems.

I also have an old '81 Shovelhead, and a '49 Panhead Chopper that we built up in the mid 1970's, but both of these bikes are in "semi retirement storage", so I don't count them as daily drivers.

But I also collect older "Muscle Cars" from the late 60's, early '70's, so I guess I'm just a Pack Rat when it comes to Harley's and high performance cars.
