Default Avons for Nightster...

Mine are just standard sizes, so front = 100/90-19 57H and rear = 150/80B16 77H 77V - the Avon page on 'em is at http://www.avon-tyres.co.uk/motorbik...r-roadster-low. I always felt the Dunlops were just too hard for UK roads, I read somewhere we use different tarmac in the UK and you need softer rubber to work with it. Mind you, I also read that George W Bush is an alien, and that there's no Santa Claus, so who knows.

Sorry for delay in coming back, the joys of working life can get in the way of the bike!

BTW I mean it about the mould (should that be "mold" for you US folk?) release, it really is tricky until you shift it! White spirit and sandpaper does seem to work (but wear gloves if you value your fingertips)

Of course, if you guys now go buy Avons on my say-so and hate 'em I guess I'm kinda screwed on these forums... ... but I'm pretty sure that won't happen!

Happy haulin

Dumb question here...Is it ok to go to the Avon or Metz on the rear while still having the factory Dunlop on the front, I still have what looks to be about half life on the front but the rear needs changing.

No problem, been there done that, but I'd have just thrown the front Dunflop away if I'd have known at the time how much better the Metz was.

Had the Dunlops, switched to Avons after slippage on the front in a turn, and another time rear over train tracks.

The difference is amazing - Avons are super sticky - confidence went up 100%

I just went back to Dunlops. The Metzler in the rear keep drifting out in turns especially in the rain.
