Question Enricher/Choke cable replacement help

Just need a little info on the procedure to replace said cable and ****. Is it easier to pull the tank then air filter assembly? Or another way that is easier. Wife bought a 2004 883, as we all know by now, these d@%m ***** are the first thing to go. Maybe a replacement **** instead of a cover, just have not found anything she really likes that doesn't require the OEM **** to be in place. Thanks for suggestions, ideas, dreams, etc.

You don't need to remove the fuel tank, but you'll need to remove the air filter and then the carb which isn't really all that hard to do. The ***** work fine but the cables do eventually bind up.

+1 on what cHarley said. You just need to pull the carb to get at the spot where the cable connects to /screws into the carb. As for the "these d@%m ***** are the first thing to go", I'm not sure what you're talking about......I've never had an issue with the *****, and I'm only on my second cable in 10 years. I had to replace the original cable because I over tightened the mounting nut causing the plastic portion of the mount to break. If you just need to replace the ****, you could always find something you like, drill two holes (a hole in the back side for the pin & one on the side), tap the hole on the side for a set screw, and there you have a new ****.

WV seems like every Sporty we looked at and have talked to owners of have had problems with the stock plastic **** coming off the cable end coupler. Not bashing anything, just thought that Moco would have made something like that a little heavier weight. Thanks for the idea on the new ****.

I didn't remove the carb or the tank. I did separate the carb fron the intake but didn't undo anything, Simply unfasten the choke end, separate the intake / carb the cables hold it in place and remove the choke. I like the billet choke ***** from Killer Carbs (Dale Sanders) on ebay.
