Default Cables rubbing

Hi guys,

Was just wondering whether anybody has had the same problem.

I've had black mini apes and diamond black braided cables put on my bike (in august) and yesterday was going over my bike, doing bits, when I looked at my clutch cable and where it was touching my handle bars. Its completely rubbed through the paint work! I can't believe it!
I'm so p*ssed!
I've had to put some black electrical tape on my bars to stop it from getting worse, which is pretty!

I thought this post was going to be about the throttle & idle cables wearing thru the aluminum lower tripple tree.

No wonder nobody else has replied. If you don't want it to wear out then buy a twinkie to pousse at DD with.

If the shop that put your bars on did it correctly the clutch cable should be held tightly to the left downtube by two c-clamps. If so, slide the clutch cable up a bit until there is enough slack it is not rubbing on the bars. The damage is already done but this should prevent any further. If you don't have some play in the cable then it was mis-measured and is too short.
